Overview

After a rather dominant and one sided affair in the 1st leg of this affair Sevilla come to Old Trafford at a stalemate to face a United side coming off the heels of a crucial 2-1 victory against Liverpool,  looking to progress into the final eight for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

Manchester United comes into this contest with confidence at an all time high following their 2-1 victory over Liverpool which comes after a last stitch effort to come from behind and beat Crystal 3-2 and a 2-1 win against Chelsea in a solid display making 3 wins on the bounce for the Red Devils. All is well for United however they will be having a busy week ahead them with the FA Cup Quarter Finals coming up on the weekend so it will be interesting to see how Mourinho fields his squad preferably putting priority on Champions League this time unlike the first leg of this Round of 16 Tie.

The Red Devils will be without Defenders Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Daley Blind, Midfielder Ander Herrera and Forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic while fellow Forward Anthony Martial and Midfielder Paul Pogba are doubtful.

Sevilla are currently placing in 5th and La Liga Santander and after their 2-0 loss to Valencia in Saturday's match up it looks like their chances of making the top 4 and qualifying for Champions League next year are pretty much over. With league objective out of reach Sevilla will be looking to put their all in this match away from home, ultimately one goal is all the Spanish side will need to secure their ticket for the final eight given their recent struggles for consistency however this may be too much to ask for.

Sevilla has a full side however Defenders Sebastien Corchia, Daniel Carrico and Midfielder Jesus Navas are all doubtful.

Champions League Form: 1 Win 1 Loss 3 Draws

Domestic Form: 2 Wins 2 Losses 1 Draw

Head to Head: This is the 2nd match up between the two this year and the first leg resulted in a goalless draw

Sevilla lost 41% of their away games

Manchester United have scored 2 or more goals in their last 3 games

Prediction

Manchester United have been on a wonderful run of form recently with 2 of their past 3 games victories against top 5 opponents and considering that a rather weaker United side was picked for the first leg of this round of 16 cup tie a lot goes in favor for the Red Devils on top of being at Old Trafford. Sevilla's recent losses have come against top 5 in their respective league to Athletico Madrid and Valencia. It does not look like Sevilla's struggles will end look for United to take a commanding victory and progress into the Quarter Finals.
