Denmark vs Ireland

With all the talk about the other World Cup qualifier in Europe (Italy vs Sweden) many seem to be talking less about this one Denmark vs Ireland. The expectations for these 2 teams in the World Cup are not high however these underdogs could finish quite surprisingly in Russia next year. Denmark boasts a well balanced squad lead by Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen. On the other side we have the Republic of Ireland lead by captain defender Ciaran Clark they boast a squad with depth and talent, not deep and talented as Denmark's however.

This Tuesday these 2 teams will be playing the final fixture in this European Qualifier, the stage is set winner advances the loser however is eliminated. On Saturday the 1st leg was played in Copenhagen, both teams had chances to capitalize and take the lead however the match ended in a goal less draw between the 2 sides.

Prediction
Coming into this game many predicted the result to be tight and it was. The Irish's defensive tactics frustrated the Danes waves of attacks and ultimately ended up coming to nothing. In Dublin the Irish will be looking for more of the same and see out victory in front of their home crowd, I would for them to only do so in extra time. The Danes however will be looking to book their ticket to Russia and qualify for the World Cup. I predict that they will do so, Denmark will find a way to break the Irish and pull away with closely contested victory.

Denmark 1-0 Ireland (1-0 on aggregate)
